Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a day shift contract requiring 2 years IR/Cath Lab experience, MD RT-R ARRT license, and advanced cardiac life support certifications. Responsibilities Work in a short-term acute care hospital in the Interventional Radiology department Day shift, 5x8 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM On-call required every other week Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (3:30 PM – 10:00 PM) and Saturday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) Every other holiday coverage required Float within units of equivalent or lower level acuity as needed Performs specialized procedures including tunneled catheter placements, embolizations, drain placements, pain procedures (epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablations), and vascular interventions (angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filters) Utilizes equipment such as Siemens, GE/Philips Azurion C-arm, portable C-arm, contrast delivery systems, and Cerner EMR PACS experience required Magnet certified facility Scrubs are provided Daily duties include assisting with a wide range of interventional, vascular, and pain management procedures Must be able to accurately monitor patients and recognize life-threatening arrhythmias Facility is Magnet certified and offers a supportive team environment Pre-start modules and orientation may include up to 12 hours of training Candidates must be willing to float as needed within scope of competency Every other weekend and holiday coverage expected Return staff must have a minimum 1-year separation to be considered for rehire as a traveler Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower rate No more than 7 days of requested time off is preferred for the 13-week contract, and no time off is permitted in the first two weeks Requirements Minimum of 2 years Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab experience required Current MD RT-R ARRT license, ACLS, and BLS certifications required (license required if applicable) Must have or be eligible for a compact or MD state radiology license Ability to perform and assist with angioplasty, embolization, vascular stent placement, thrombectomy, central access, and cath/drain exchanges Experience with accurate monitoring, equipment set up, EKG lead placement, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias Proficiency with Cerner EMR and PACS system required Ability to maintain sterile field and work with complex IR/Cath lab procedures First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Two recent supervisor references required Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID 3005573.
