$161,346 - $175,000 / per year*

Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction of structures, facilities, and systems. Participate in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.

Assist in the management and production of drawings, specifications, and calculations during a projects design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents under reduced supervision and coordination with the Project Manager.

Assist in review of deliverables to ensure the scope and quality standards are met throughout project's life cycle. Assist in the management and completion of various construction administration tasks, such as, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and making site visits, under reduced supervision and coordination with the Project Manager. Assist in the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials.

Review and revise designs based on feedback from senior designers and project stakeholders. Perform calculations and analyses to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations. Maintain knowledge of all relevant codes. Utilize CAD software, including Tekla Structures, and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models. Stay updated with industry trends, code updates, and advancements in structural design techniques and technologies by actively participating in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in structural engineering and project management.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancement, and help implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement within the company.

Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a construction engineering-related occupation. Some telecommuting is permitted.

Special Requirements:

Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills:

1. Utilize technologies involving advanced finite element software including ETABS, SAP 2000, SAFE, RAM Structural System and RISA to build models for the design of new buildings and retrofits in existing buildings collaborating with Engineers and Project Managers to validate the proposed design solution. 2. Evaluate and analyze existing structural framing to validate proposed tenant improvements requested by the owner including ETABS, SAP 2000, SAFE and prepare the structural drawings showing the scope of work with required details for executing the construction work using AUTOCAD, Revit. 3. Provide construction support during the construction phase in the form of submittal review, providing responses to RFIs (Request for Information) when received from the contractor and perform site visits to confirm that the construction is completed in accordance with the design documents. 4. Manage project design and deliverables as well as other design team members, supervise the work of engineers and modelers, and direct project staff in preparing contract documents such as drawings and specifications. 5. Prepare site visit reports and meeting minutes. 6. Develop graphical representation of critical engineering data using computer programs like MATLAB, Excel or Bluebeam REVU. 7. Utilize BIM modeling techniques to model complex buildings and structures. Software includes Revit & AUTOCAD. 8. Structural analysis and the finite element method. 9. Maintain understanding of building code requirements and material design standards.

Position also requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:

10. Leverage knowledge of non-linear behavior and design of steel, concrete, wood, and other materials. 11. Utilize fundamental principles of floor vibration, resonance, deflection, and human sensitivity criteria.
