Senior Estimator II – Metals Fabrication Overview We are seeking a highly skilled

Senior Estimator II

with a strong background in metals fabrication estimating and cost control. This role is critical to supporting growth and ensuring accuracy in cost planning for a wide range of projects. Typical scopes include large canopies, handrails, mezzanines, warehouse steel, dock stairs, and other structural metals. The Senior Estimator II will play a key role in developing precise estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with project teams to deliver successful outcomes. Responsibilities Review and analyze project documents to define scope of work. Participate in pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gather essential information. Perform detailed material take-offs from drawings and specifications. Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing for compliance with bid requirements. Recommend adjustments to labor and production factors based on project complexity and schedules. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to support comprehensive bid preparation. Participate in post-bid reviews, de-scope meetings, and project turnover sessions. Qualifications Proven experience as an estimator within industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or structural construction sectors. Expertise in metals fabrication and installation, including structural steel, mezzanines, canopies, and handrails. Proficiency in estimating software, Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and digital take-off tools. Strong understanding of construction materials and fabrication methods. Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings with precision. Strong communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills. Highly detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities. Education & Experience Minimum of 3 years in metals fabrication estimating (required). Hands-on fabrication and installation experience (preferred). Relevant certifications in estimating or project management are a plus. Working Conditions Office-based role with occasional site visits. Standard working hours with potential overtime during bid deadlines. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $75,000 – $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
