FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY (FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Customer Service Specialist (2 Vacancies).
Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state's peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for answering inbound calls, providing accurate information, and transferring calls to the appropriate offices and university stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide FVSU stakeholders with clear and specific information related to the area of service (e.g., Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, or Housing).
Collaborate effectively with team members to support overall office goals and operations.
Accurately document all concerns or inquiries received during phone calls.
Maintain a professional and courteous tone in every telephone interaction.
Stay informed and knowledgeable about the University's mission, goals, academic programs, student services, and campus life.
Share up-to-date information about campus events in a clear, friendly, and informed manner.
Consistently communicate positively about Fort Valley State University.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Speaks clearly with proper grammar and pronunciation
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Professional and/or volunteer experience working directly with the public
Experience or training in sales, marketing, fundraising or public relations
Ability to organize and present facts in a concise and persuasive manner
Ability to record data accurately
Ability to work in a Microsoft Windows environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table.
The work is typically performed in an office., Monday-Thursday – 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
