Overview

Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a privately funded 501(c)3 non-profit, evangelical Christian ministry dedicated to sharing the Gospel and helping the homeless and impoverished. All staff participate in prayer and Bible Study and should be comfortable with a lifestyle of prayer and worship integrated into day-to-day job functions. The organization requires that every employee have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Note: Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries is a nicotine-free ministry, and a drug/nicotine-free lifestyle is expected of all staff.

Requirements and Application Details

Responsibilities

• Essential Functions: uphold, promote, and encourage the organization's culture and values; contribute to a culture based on grace that affirms and advances Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries' vision and purpose.
• Cashiering: greet customers, answer questions, process payments, maintain accurate drawer, issue receipts, and provide courteous customer service; keep checkout areas clean and organized; assist with stocking and rotation of merchandise; assist with guest training and service hours as a role model.
• Warehouse/Receiving/Donation Attendant: assist donors, input data, operate forklift, sort and prepare donations for pricing and distribution, maintain area cleanliness, assist with loading/unloading, and follow donation policies and procedures.
• Driver Duties: obtain and maintain authorized driver status, plan efficient routes, load/unload vehicles, drive safely, and use navigation tools as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ethical, able to make smart, timely decisions; professional and courteous at all times.
• Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education, Experience, and Certification

• Prefer retail and customer service experience; High School Diploma or equivalent; Forklift certification (training available); Valid driver's license preferred; Clean driving record.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $16 per hour.
