Overview

Accounting (Restaurant Industry) — Location: Mentor, OH. Job Type: Full-Time. Industry: Restaurant. We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Restaurant Accountant to join our team in Mentor, OH. This full-time position is essential to maintaining the financial health of our restaurant operations. You’ll be responsible for managing accounts payable, payroll entries, and financial reporting with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with the unique needs of the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: Manage and process accounts payable to ensure timely and accurate payments; request and maintain W-9 forms from vendors; collect and verify vendor banking information for electronic payments; investigate and resolve discrepancies on past-due invoices; collaborate with operations for invoice approvals; code invoices accurately to align with budget categories.
• Payroll (ADP): Record ADP payroll journal entries in QuickBooks Online; coordinate with operations to resolve payroll discrepancies (ADP).
• Monthly/Daily Closing: Prepare monthly financial statements (balance sheets and income statements); reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records; file monthly Sales & Use Tax returns; support operations with financial reviews and reporting; analyze revenue across multiple systems and sources; reconcile credit card and cash transactions daily with POS Toast.

Qualifications

• Required: Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role; Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; strong understanding of accounting principles; excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Preferred: Experience with Toast or Restaurant Accounting; background in hospitality, golf, campgrounds, or commercial rentals is a plus; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
