Overview

Senior position in Accounting responsible for financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and supporting accounting policies and procedures documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of financial reporting functions, including preparing and reviewing reports for internal or external parties in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the organization, maintenance and documentation of Accounting policies and procedures.
• Prepare and/or review periodic reports for FHLB management, the Board of Directors, the SEC, FHFA, and the Office of Finance (including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K submissions).
• Provide monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports to management and the Board of Directors.
• Provide data to FHFA for the call report system (CRS) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Prepare quarterly and annual data and disclosures in support of the FHLBank System Combined Financials as required by the Office of Finance.
• Handle ad hoc data/reporting requests from internal or external parties.
• Participate in maintenance and documentation of Accounting policies and procedures (Accounting Policy Guide) and monitor accounting developments (FASB, SEC, etc.).
• Maintain updated knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations and assist in the assessment and summary of new standards.
• Interact with other areas of the organization, external auditors, the Office of Finance and other external agencies.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in an accounting role
• Experience with financial statements and the ins and outs of financial reporting
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with quarterly and annual audit reports
• Plusses: CPA; prior experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
