Overview
Accountant position at SERVPRO Team Toft in Omaha, NE. Competitive salary with benefits starting Day 1. This role focuses on general accounting, franchise royalty reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll support, strategic finance, compliance, and other accounting duties.
Responsibilities
- Record daily sales, deposits, and expenses for the franchise location.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and KPI analyses.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and perform scenario planning to support strategic decisions.
- Calculate and prepare royalty reports based on franchise sales and ensure timely submission to the franchisor.
- Maintain supporting documentation for royalties and franchise fees; assist with audits or reviews conducted by the franchisor.
- Process vendor invoices, reconcile vendor accounts, resolve discrepancies, and monitor accounts receivable.
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule, maintain payroll records, and file required tax reports; assist with employee expense reimbursements.
- Develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses; track key financial KPIs and profitability by division.
- Partner with Operations and Project Managers on job costing, staffing, pricing, and vendor negotiations; provide financial insights to leadership.
- Support capital planning, financing initiatives, and relationships with banks, tax advisors, and lenders.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies; maintain organized financial records for audits, tax filings, and franchise compliance.
- Implement and monitor internal controls, including fraud prevention, PO compliance, and spending approvals; develop and update accounting policies as the company scales.
- Provide support for special projects and other accounting-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience; franchise or multi-unit experience a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll practices, and internal controls.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
