Overview
The mission of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is to promote and support a workforce system that creates value and offers employers, individuals and communities the opportunity to achieve and sustain economic prosperity. To support our mission, we are looking for an Accountant VI to join the Revenue and Trust management Department. This position is located at 101 E. 15th St, Austin, Texas.

What You Will Do
- The Accountant VI performs advanced or supervisory (senior-level) analytical work assisting with the oversight of the revenue activities.
- Work under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
You Will Be Trusted To
- Oversee the analysis and interpretation of revenue data and the cash position of the agency.
- Oversee and/or coordinate data compilation for financial reports, which may include working with other agencies.
- Prepare and review general ledger accounting entries and reconciliation of financial transactions.
- Serve as the backup point of contact for all federal draw activities.
- Maintain overall quality control of the accounting system and ensures the integrity of system processing and accounting files.
- Establish, install, and direct the maintenance of efficient accounting systems for controlling, recording, and reporting transactions.
- Oversee the detailed reporting of revenue to the Comptroller of public accounts.
- Oversee and/or prepare monthly and annual operating statements, financial statements, and reports.
- Analyze and recommend improvements, adaptations, or revisions to the accounting system and accompanying procedures.
- Audit general journal entries and payment, cash, purchase, travel, and related vouchers.
- Perform related duties as needed.
You Qualify With
- Three years and six months of full-time experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- A license to practice as a certified public accountant in Texas will satisfy the education and/or experience requirements.
