For 50 years, this dynamic, mid-size tax and accounting firm located in Boise, ID, has specialized in business and individual tax and accounting. The team is seeking a seasoned tax accountant with 2+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience to participate in tax and accounting engagements for a diverse roster of small to medium-sized closely held businesses and business owners.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and/or review federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts/estates.
- Assist clients with financial statement preparation including compilations and reviews.
- Assist and, in some cases, lead engagements throughout all phases of tax and accounting including research, projections, and planning.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced associates, fostering professional development.
- Develop and cultivate professional client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights on tax planning strategies and financial decision-making.
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience preparing business and individual tax returns.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field/experience.
- CPA license preferred or CPA candidate.
- Demonstrated expertise with complex tax compliance and consultative matters.
- Proven understanding of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and PC skills including Microsoft Office and QuickBooks (CCH ProSystem fx Tax and ProSystem fx Engagement software proficiency a plus).
- Financial statement, gift, trust/estate, and business valuation experience are a plus.
