Overview
This position supports electrical maintenance for events and facility operations at ASM Global, including electrical installations, servicing, safety compliance, and event-related electrical work. The role requires working extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Enter, track, and complete all work requests and daily tasks, including preventative maintenance (PM), using Altum Work Order Management Software.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components with test equipment and hand tools to locate and correct problems.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure codes compliance.
- Read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams showing outlets, circuits, panel boards, load centers, and other equipment; install and connect wires to circuit breakers, outlets, and transformers.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure safety and compatibility.
- Review and carry out electrical work orders for event/show needs, including exhibitor/show management orders and catering.
- Install electrical service(s) per event orders.
- Adhere to OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety codes, as well as ASM Global safety requirements.
- Monitor electrical inventories to ensure availability of supplies.
- Maintain and clean equipment after use and store properly.
- Operate mechanized equipment (e.g., Genie lift, forklifts) safely and according to standards.
- Perform work in compliance with ASM Global guidelines and other assigned duties.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Event Support Responsibilities
- Assist with set, service, and strike tasks for events in arenas, convention centers, pre-function areas, locker rooms, and banquet rooms.
- Assist with installation of audio/visual reinforcement equipment to meet client requirements.
- Repair and maintain event-related equipment in conjunction with operations (e.g., seating, carts, tables, lifts).
- Operate motorized equipment as needed (e.g., Genie lift, forklifts, plows).
- Complete written documentation for event-related services and enter data into the maintenance system.
- Work with clients and the public, communicating building policies regarding setup, technical services, and facility policies.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or vocational training and at least five (5) years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience or Journeyman certification. Three years of experience in skilled and semi-skilled maintenance. Knowledge of tools, materials, and equipment used in general maintenance; ability to handle tools and equipment across trades.
Language Skills
Must be able to verbally communicate with the public and clients and possess written and computer skills.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to work from CAD drawings and electrical service forms. Ability to read blueprints and diagnose facility/mechanical problems and make repairs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; Journeyman certification is preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; operate a Genie lift to heights of 36 feet; work from step ladders, extension ladders, and scaffolding.
Work Environment
Evening, weekend, and holiday work required; mandatory overtime as needed. May work outdoors or indoors on ASM property. Must be well-groomed and wear full uniform per ASM policy.
