Responsibilities

  • Conduct day-to-day operation of the Human Resources department, including greeting internal and external guests to the HR department, administering company benefits programs, conducting enrollments, answering questions and troubleshooting problems.
  • Assist in recruiting, screening and interviewing for all management and non-management hotel positions. Support the HR Director/Manager in directing management staff on effective recruiting techniques. Schedule interviews and process related paperwork.
  • Create and update HR bulletin boards and posting locations as needed.
  • Distribute paychecks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate department and associate files. Explain elements of various benefits and assist with enrollment and claims processing.
  • Assist with associate relations events and recognition programs (e.g., Associate of the Month, Anniversary Awards).
  • Process benefits enrollments electronically as required. Monitor and update job requisitions and communicate openings internally and externally.
  • Coordinate pre-selection activities (drug testing, reference checks, etc.) to ensure policy compliance. Process transfer requests in the required time frame.
  • Respond to interviewed applicants within required time frame. Support the achievement of goals in the hotel’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
  • Oversee wage and benefits administration, analyzing reports and ensuring equitable application of compensation.
  • Prepare correspondence and maintain applicant flow logs/data. Ensure new hires and associates have proper employment eligibility verifications.
  • Adhere to attendance rules and be available to work as required. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Hotel experience required.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety, labor relations, budgeting, quality assurance, and hospitality law.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and achieve goals.
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
  • Strong written communication; concise, organized, complete.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with diverse audiences.
