Job Description

Position Summary The restaurant server works under the direction of the Food & Beverage Director. His or her primary responsibilities include selling and serving food and drinks in a professional manner and providing exceptional service to guests. Primary Responsibilities Serve 3 – 4 tables, as determined by management.

Complete knowledge of hotel’s food and beverage preparation.

Able to use a computer to ring orders on a check.

Able to interact with guests in a friendly/fast manner.

Able to accept different types of payment and make change.

Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant.

Clear and reset tables.

Check identification of guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.

If consuming alcoholic beverages, observe guests behavior, and monitor alcoholic consumption.

Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.

Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.

Other duties as assigned Bartender Duties • Check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol • Balance cash receipts • Attempt to limit problem and liability related to customer’s excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering transportation for intoxicated patrons • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons • Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons • Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays • Order or requisition liquors and supplies • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; gives entertainment suggestions and travel directions • Welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner • Check the working condition of equipment and report to supervisor all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment • Knows all safety and emergency procedures • Communicates with the previous and following shift • Ensures compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirements • Proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment • Ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner • Report all safety concerns to management • Attend and participate in all mandatory trainings and meetings • Flexible with schedule and assignments • Maintain effective performance under pressure • May perform other similar duties as requested by supervisor

Responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Primary Responsibilities: Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems. Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems. Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation. Set steam table; serve or ensure proper serving of food for tray line or dining room. Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards. Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques. Store food properly and safely, marking date and item. Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor. Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved. Apportion food for serving. Maintain daily production records. Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation. Complete food temperature checks before service. Education/Experience A high school diploma or equivalent preferred Culinary school 2-4 year degree or foreign equivalency preferred Prior experience in related food service positions required Physical Requirements Standing for long periods of time Work around hot burners, fryers, grills, and open flames Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls See differences between colors, shades, and brightness Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsve

Education/Experience High school diploma or GED preferred

Minimum of 6 months server experience preferred

Experience in hospitality preferred

Possess basic math skills and cash-handling

Licenses, certifications - applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card or ability to obtain as needed.

Physical Requirements Walking and standing throughout shift
