Heavy Civil Senior Project Manager - Civil Construction - Base Salary to 150k/year - Jacksonville, NC Our client, a very well-established commercial / municipal / federal construction company is currently seeking a Heavy Civil Senior Project Manager with 5+ years heavy civil construction experience (bridge, highway, land/earth development) to be based out of their
Goldsboro/Jacksonville,

The Heavy Civil Senior Project Manager will provide Leadership and Management over: Safety & Risk, Project Operations, Finance, and Construction. Responsibilities: Promote safety in all areas
Establish project expectations & policies aligned to company standards
Collaborate with internal contacts to review projects to bid & fill key positions
Visit jobsites regularly attending at least one toolbox talk per jobsite monthly
Facilitate negotiations & change orders, develop project budgets & schedules
Manage procurement process: labor, equipment, materials, and subcontracts
Manage financial contracts: Invoices/ billing, subcontractor and vendor payment, Monthly Project Status Report & Positive cash flow management
Support Project Managers in creating, updating, and managing the project schedule with General and Site Superintendents
Work with project team and subcontractors to outline a work plan assigning duties, responsibilities, scope of authority, quality control, subcontractor and purchase order scopes and complete project close-out.
Attend all progress meetings with team, owner, subcontractor, and engineers
Actively communicate with owners regarding their needs and questions
Anticipate and solve problems with a positive mindset and focus on solutions
Hold to uncompromising standards, personally and professionally
Coach, mentor, and train all jobsite personnel; give ongoing feedback
Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement; implement new strategies
Consistently build strong positive relationships with all contacts
Work: Mon-Fri from 7am-5pm typical hours; 50 % time in office; 50% on job sites (within approx. 2-hour radius) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management preferred
5+ years' experience as managing heavy civil construction projects (bridge, highway, land/earth development)
Experience in construction, finance, design, scheduling, and management required
OSHA 30 Hour training required
Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Procore, Phoenix or similar / equivalent software
Security clearance a plus Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Ability to prepare a subcontractor scope of work
Experience with pricing, purchasing, negotiating, and preparing purchase orders for materials and equipment
Experience reading and understanding drawings
Compensation: Base salary in the 125k - 150k/year range
