Shipping And Receiving Clerk
As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be integral to the operations within the warehouse. Your role will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of goods in and out of the facility. Responsibilities include reading work orders to determine production specifications and information, picking and packing materials for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, verifying product quality and preparing items for shipping, keeping track of inventory, maintaining cleanliness of the facility and workstations, weighing or measuring materials, ingredients, and products to ensure conformance to requirements, and transferring materials, supplies, and products between work areas using moving equipment and hand tools. Essential skills include experience within a manufacturing setting, understanding of production/mfg environment metrics, quotas, and expectations, ability to lift 30-40 lbs throughout the day, high attention to detail, ability to understand and perform basic math equations, including working with fractions, and a high school diploma or GED. Work environment: This role is set in a manufacturing environment that is air-conditioned in the batch-making area, although other areas may still be warm. The first shift runs from Monday to Thursday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, and Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Job type and location: This is a contract to hire position based out of Troy, Michigan. Pay and benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr.
