West Tulsa Manufacturing Company Seeking Material Handlers
Duties
Operates forklifts and related equipment safely and efficiently, with full knowledge of grades, speeds, and load capacities. Ensures materials are properly stacked, tiered, and transported without spills or damage. Operates chop saw for preparing test bars and moves material to designated locations per material tags. Conducts daily inspections of hoists, spreaders, and spreader chains, ensuring proper and safe operation. Hooks and unhooks materials for crane operators; keeps spacer bars organized and in good condition. Stocks machines with required materials, moves material to forwarding zones, and tags appropriately for other departments. Monitors materials for rust, straightness, and defects, reporting issues and mixed heats to supervisor. Assists in loading, unloading, and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments. Capable of safely operating a variety of equipment, including yard trucks, cranes, truck-tractors with trailers, and winch trucks. Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work areas at all times. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and follow detailed instructions. Minimum of one month of related experience or equivalent on-the-job training. Responsibilities
Workmanship: Primarily unskilled work with some semi-skilled responsibilities, such as equipment checks; decisions subject to supervisory review. Materials/Products:
Requires ordinary care to prevent damage to parts, assemblies, or finished products. Equipment: Must exercise close care to prevent damage to forklifts, hoists, and related handling equipment. Safety: Care required when hooking/unhooking materials and operating equipment to prevent injury to self and others. Effort
Frequent use of medium force when handling spacer bars, hooking/unhooking materials, or moving products. Continuous standing and walking on even and uneven surfaces; frequent bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, and reaching. Occasional squatting, twisting, and overhead work. Requires lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally, 25 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly. Working Conditions
Work performed in a heated, ventilated shop with occasional outdoor exposure while operating equipment. May involve exposure to dirt, grease, heat, and minor injuries (sprains, strains, contusions). Required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. Day and Night Shift Available
