Electro Mechanical Technician Reports To: Plant Manager Employment Type: Direct Hire Salary: $100,000–$110,000

Company Overview – Romeoville, IL Our client in Romeoville is a leader in manufacturing high-quality plastic containers — including bottles and jars — using PET and HDPE plastics. They provide both stock (ready-made) and custom-designed containers to meet unique customer needs. All containers are made from BPA-free, 100% recyclable plastics, making them safe for food use and environmentally responsible. Job Summary

We are seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician to help maintain and optimize the performance of all machinery, equipment, and facility systems. In this role, you will schedule and perform repairs, troubleshoot issues, and partner closely with the Plant Manager to improve operational efficiency. You’ll also assist in supporting other technicians while ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely, effectively, and in compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities

Follow all safety policies and promote a safe working environment. Lead technician assignments and report equipment downtime to management. Support improvements in safety procedures and ensure OSHA compliance. Schedule repairs, maintenance, and installations of equipment. Determine when to use internal vs. external maintenance resources. Work closely with leadership to resolve technical problems and enhance equipment performance. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules. Inspect machinery for performance and operational integrity. Identify cost-effective tools, parts, and maintenance methods. Respond to emergency repair needs and recommend solutions. Assist with capital planning and equipment upgrades or replacements. Order necessary tools, supplies, and parts for maintenance work. Train technicians on machine setup, safety, and best practices. Oversee general facility upkeep (e.g., HVAC, janitorial, landscaping, basic repairs). Maintain detailed maintenance logs and generate reports for management. Travel to other company locations when needed. Availability for weekend and evening work as required. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements

Vocational or technical training plus 10+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with OSHA 70E and NFPA safety standards. Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled machines and support equipment. Strong mechanical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Benefits
