Accessibility Project Manager
The Office of Accessibility executes the end-to-end enterprise accessibility strategy for Cisco. We champion accessibility awareness and inclusivity, building on Cisco's people-first culture. The Office of Accessibility collaborates cross-functionally within Cisco's People, Policy, and Purpose (3P) organization's Social Impact and Inclusion Office, particularly with the People & Communities organization, our Legal organization, and across engineering teams to drive adoption, execution, consistency, and collaboration across the enterprise. Job Summary:
The Accessibility Project Manager will join the Office of Accessibility, which serves all 90,000+ employees and partners closely with many organizations across the enterprise. The project manager is essential to ensuring we meet regulatory compliance obligations, including European and US federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. This role works collaboratively with cross-functional teams, managing resources, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals, while proactively utilizing AI technologies where possible to streamline processes and improve project outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing medium to large scale projects. Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Initiation
Develop project plans, including scope, objectives, timeline, budget, and resource allocation. Identify project stakeholders and define clear roles and responsibilities for team members. Assess project risks, create risk mitigation plans, and establish contingency strategies. Facilitate project kick-off meetings to ensure alignment of goals and expectations.
2. Project Execution and Monitoring
Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within scope, while leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency. Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., dashboards, KPIs). Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective resource utilization by utilizing AI solutions to optimize processes. Regularly communicate project progress to stakeholders through status reports and updates. Lead problem-solving efforts to address project challenges and resolve conflicts.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams, external vendors, and other stakeholders. Coordinate with functional leads (e.g., engineering, design, marketing) to ensure seamless execution. Facilitate collaboration across teams to encourage knowledge sharing and innovation.
4. Risk Management and Quality Assurance
Identify potential risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies. Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with organizational objectives. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
5. Team Leadership and Development
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to project team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that emphasizes accountability and excellence. Identify opportunities for team development and recommend training programs.
Minimum Qualifications
57 years of experience in project management, with a focus on managing medium to large-scale projects in technology. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in scaling project and program management with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across a large matrixed organization. Demonstrated proficiency with agile and waterfall project management methodologies. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., AirTable, Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana, or Trello). Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with accessibility and disability inclusion. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is preferred. Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specifications. Experience supporting prioritization and sequencing of work. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Experience using AI tools or a willingness to learn and adopt AI technologies to enhance project delivery. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly. Key Competencies
