Overview

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of? At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system. We seek a candidate who is passionate about our mission and believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. If you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be. While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported. The Institutional Product Group enables the foundations of Coinbase\'s institutional business, supporting thousands of large financial institutions. We enable institutions to custody digital assets and participate in the crypto economy in a secure and safe way. We build a scalable and secure crypto platform supporting hundreds of assets and enabling crypto participation with staking, governance, and web3 gateways. The team works on cutting-edge crypto technologies, scalable infrastructure, and UI surfaces across web, mobile, and browser extensions in a fast-paced industry with opportunities to build new initiatives. Team focus

The Institutional Staking Engineering team builds and maintains systems to safely manage billions of dollars of staked digital assets across multiple blockchain networks. Staking is an integral part of the custody experience because it allows customers to earn a yield on their digital assets. The team also helps secure underlying blockchain networks by unlocking funds for staking that would otherwise remain unstaked, contributing to network security through higher costs for attacks and increasing validator diversity and decentralization.
