Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded. Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts to ensure accuracy. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and monitor accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payments. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients, tracking outstanding payments, and following up on overdue balances. Month-End and Year-End Closing: Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and schedules for internal and external use. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports for management, identifying trends, variances, and key financial metrics. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes. Tax Compliance & Filings: Assist with tax filings and compliance, including sales tax, income tax, and other local or federal tax requirements. Prepare necessary reports for auditors and assist with audits as needed. Internal Controls: Ensure proper internal controls are followed in all accounting activities. Assist with the implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures to maintain accuracy and compliance. Other Duties: Perform other ad-hoc financial and accounting tasks as requested by management. Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite (preferred). Skills & Abilities: Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Preferred: CPA or pursuing CPA certification is a plus. Experience with financial reporting or public accounting a plus.
