About this position: Technical Writer – Information Technology Anchorage, AK Bering Government Services, LLC, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Technical Writer – Information Technology. The Technical Writer will be responsible for supporting proposal development efforts by drafting, editing, and formatting technical sections within the Information Technology domain. This role ensures proposal content is accurate, compliant, compelling, and aligned with customer requirements. Other duties may be assigned. Research, draft, edit, and format proposal content specific to Information Technology requirements. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop accurate, persuasive proposal narratives. Ensure all technical content complies with solicitation requirements, corporate standards, and customer expectations. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and customer-focused language. Work with Proposal Managers and Graphic Designers to integrate written content into cohesive proposal volumes. Review and revise draft materials to ensure compliance, clarity, and consistency. Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Technology, or related field; advanced knowledge or degree in Information Technology discipline preferred. 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in government proposal development. Demonstrated experience working with SMEs to extract technical information. Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe tools. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to tailor writing style to a variety of technical audiences. Preferred Experience writing proposals within the Information Technology industry sector for government customers. Familiarity with Shipley proposal process or equivalent methodologies. Experience with federal contracting and FAR requirements. The job is performed in a remote setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone system. The work described herein is a home office setting. Travel may be required. Additional Qualifying Factors As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
