A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a
Senior Low Voltage Designer
to lead design and consulting services for a variety of technology infrastructure projects. This role will focus on the design of IT, communications, security, audio-visual, and structured cabling systems for new builds, system upgrades, and renovations. Projects may range from single-system designs to complex, multi-system programs. The ideal candidate is experienced in preparing construction documents, managing design phases, and providing construction administration services. Knowledge of electrical power systems is a strong asset. Key Responsibilities
Lead low voltage system designs from concept through construction Evaluate system options and develop solutions aligned with project scope and goals Design and layout systems including load calculations, equipment selection, schematics, and schedules Prepare detailed drawings, CSI-format specifications, and technical documentation for bidding and construction Perform system analyses, studies, and cost estimates Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors throughout project lifecycle Participate in construction administration, including site visits and technical reviews Help manage project budgets and internal resources Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers on the team Qualifications
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or similar field (Bachelor’s preferred) 10+ years of experience in low voltage or electrical systems design and consulting RCDD or equivalent certification preferred PE license or eligibility to obtain one is a plus Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office tools Experience working within architectural and engineering project environments Strong self-management and team collaboration skills Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Active engagement in relevant industry associations is a plus Seniority level
