Overview
Senior Consultant–Electronics Life Cycle Assessment. WSP is looking for a talented individual to join our Sustainability, Energy and Climate division to support electronics and technology client projects with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA). This position could be based in one of multiple U.S. office locations: Portland, OR; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; New York, NY; Greensboro, NC; Bethlehem, PA; San Francisco, CA; San Diego, CA; Arlington, VA; Boulder, CO. Other locations can be arranged for an exceptional candidate. The individual will lead client-facing teams in the design, management, and reporting of product and organizational sustainability programs in the electronics and technology sectors, focusing on LCA. The candidate should be flexible across projects, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, and passionate about LCA, sustainability, and climate resilience. Your Impact
Lead delivery with electronics LCA projects from start to finish, including: Researching and collecting life cycle inventory data, performing quality assurance, and developing new datasets to fill data gaps Modeling in software platforms such as LCA For Experts (formerly GaBi), SimaPro, GREET and openLCA Developing product life cycle assessments to calculate impacts (GHG emissions, energy use, water use, consumption and scarcity, waste, and other impacts) Producing ISO-conformant reports and presentations based on LCA results Producing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), eco passports/profiles, and LCA background reports per PCRs and EU PEF methodology Research opportunities to reduce environmental impacts in the life cycle of a product or service Produce sustainability reports, disclosures, and other communications Develop and maintain data management systems and business intelligence tools Support business development activities with existing and prospective clients Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Qualifications
Required
Bachelor→s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in product sustainability and LCA consulting in electronics/technology sectors Experience with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 conformant LCA reports Familiarity with product design, manufacturing, supply chain, circular economy, and waste reduction methods Strong interpersonal skills, credibility, and integrity Excellent oral and written communications; proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Ability to develop and present analyses using Excel, Access, and Power BI Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently Ability to collaborate remotely across geographies Uphold workplace safety and comply with health, safety, and harassment policies Occasional travel may be required Preferred
Master→s degree in engineering, energy, sustainability, or environmental discipline Experience with LCA software (GaBi, SimaPro, openLCA, GREET) and PCR/PEF Knowledge of ISO 14025, 14040/14044, and related standards Experience with other sectors (food & beverage, agriculture, apparel/textiles, construction products) and EPDs/PEF Familiarity with circularity standards and water footprint methodologies Benefits and Compensation
