Position Summary:

Under general supervision, this position performs and coordinates clerical for Radiology Services at Medical Center Downtown. This includes coordinating and scheduling patient outpatient procedures and appointments, communicating with patients, and checking patients in and out on day of appointment/procedure. This position involves the use of computers, and other software systems such as EPIC. May provide functional supervision. May provide functional supervision.

Position Responsibilities:

Composes correspondence in response to routine inquiries frequently without instruction or review. Initiates and processes standardized forms related to area of assignment. Coordinates outpatient procedures and appointments across multiple modalities to include: Breast Imaging, Ultrasound, Cat Scan, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Interventional Radiology and Fluoroscopy. Schedules limited procedures in Breast Imaging as needed. Calls and notifies patients of appointment and procedure times, location, and instructions. Scans, uploads, and files documentation into patient's medical records. Answers and directs phone calls to appropriate personnel. Checks patients in and out on day of appointment/procedure. Monitors and maintains department faxes and distributes accordingly. Assists with the ordering of office supplies. Places work orders to maintain a functional department. Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: Days 9:30 am - 6:00 pm (Monday - Friday)

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of office routines and functions sufficient to refer visitors and telephone calls and to route correspondence by name and functional area. Knowledge of institutional and unit policies, processes and forms. Knowledge of proper format, grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. Skill in utilizing computer software packages and online systems. Skill in operating office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and apply institutional and other policies accurately. Ability to gather, evaluate, and display data in appropriate format and keep accurate records. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

Any combination of related clerical office experience, related undergraduate education, and/or post high school clerical training that is the equivalent to two years of full-time employment.
