This position has the responsibility of preparing exam rooms for patients, measuring vital signs, performing approved laboratory tests, assisting clinicians with patient care, and performing a variety of administrative tasks. The MA at ProHEALTH utilizes a variety of clinical and clerical skills to deliver excellent patient experiences. Location: 2 Ohio Dr Lake Success, NY Hours: 37.5 total hours per week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am -5:30pm, Wednesday 8:30am - 6:30pm, and Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm Specialty: Nephrology Primary Responsibilities: Prepares exam rooms by disinfecting, stocking, and verifying appropriate medications are available Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner Assists and accompanies patients to exam rooms Interviews patients and records information into the medical record Measures, collects, and records patient vital signs Performs basic lab testing and other approved tests Displays proficient phlebotomy practices Prepares specimens for transportation to the lab Assists in examination and treatment of patients under clinician direction Performs other duties as required You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of phlebotomy experience Experience with vital signs and basic lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy tests, etc.) Proven excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Preferred Qualification: Certification in Medical Assisting 2+ years of phlebotomy experience Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
