Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and determining accounting codes for the entry of non-purchase ordered items and services. The role involves reviewing and verifying the system's three-way match of invoices to purchase orders and purchase receipts, researching and resolving invoice discrepancies, entering and posting invoices for payment into the company's Accounts Payable System - SAP, reconciling and balancing Accounts Payable transactions, and corresponding with vendors to address inquiries. Responsibilities: Review, verify, and determine accounting codes for invoice entry of non-purchase ordered items/services. Review and verify system three-way match of invoices to purchase orders and purchase receipts. Research and resolve invoice discrepancies. Enter and post invoices for payment into company's Accounts Payable System - SAP. Reconcile and balance Accounts Payable transactions entered for payment. Review vendor accounts to ensure invoices received have been entered for payment. Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries. Essential Skills: Minimum two years of experience in Accounts Payable. Two years of experience with SAP. Proficient in data entry. Intermediate level experience in Excel, including the use of formulas. Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience with the Vendor Invoice Management SAP module is a significant advantage. Strong organizing and prioritizing skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work Environment: The position is 100% onsite and offers flexible hours between 8-5, 7-4, or 9-6, Monday to Friday. If the role becomes permanent, there is an opportunity to work three days in the office and two days remotely. The Accounts Payable team consists of 11 members. The company fosters a close-knit culture built on respect and collaboration. The dress code is business casual. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, Maryland. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $26.45/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
