Litigation Legal Secretary
to join its Los Angeles office. This position provides comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling complex litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities
Prepare, edit, and finalize legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence in compliance with applicable court rules. Support attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, including case management, trial preparation, and post-trial follow-up. Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings and court appearances, and make travel arrangements. Handle time entry, expense reporting, and billing coordination in accordance with firm and client requirements. Assist with client intake and engagement processes, including conflict checks and file setup. File documents electronically in federal and state courts, including through ECF systems. Maintain organized electronic and physical files, ensuring all records are current and accessible. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner. Collaborate with attorneys and administrative teams to support case demands and firm operations. Perform additional administrative duties as required. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; additional training or legal coursework preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience in a legal secretary or legal assistant capacity, preferably in a law firm environment. Familiarity with litigation processes, civil discovery rules, and court procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with legal software such as NetDocuments, Adobe Pro, and Best Authority. Experience with time entry and billing systems (e.g., InTapp, Emburse). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication, proofreading, and document formatting abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Typing speed of 60+ wpm with high accuracy. Compensation
Base Salary Range:
$90,000
$110,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Eligible for annual bonus and merit-based increases Benefits
