Medical Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The role involves recording patient vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. You will also be responsible for stocking exam and treatment rooms, ordering supplies, triaging over the phone with patients, handling electronic medical records (EMR) for patient questions and callbacks, processing medical refills, and performing various administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, and reception. Responsibilities: Record patient vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Stock exam and treatment rooms and order necessary supplies. Triage patient calls and handle inquiries over the phone. Manage patient questions and callbacks using EMR systems. Process medical refills efficiently. Perform administrative tasks including typing, filing, faxing, and managing reception. Essential Skills: Medical assisting experience with certification. Bilingual in Spanish. Experience in OB/GYN, urology, or surgery specialties. Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Athena. Strong understanding of medical terminology. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of back office medical assistant experience in preferred specialties (OB/GYN, Urology, or Surgery). Certification in Medical Assisting is mandatory. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is essential. Work Environment: The position requires working Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The role involves supporting multiple locations, including Pearland, Pasadena, and surrounding areas. You will primarily work with patients undergoing colon and rectal tests/procedures. It is important to be comfortable with this specialty. The work environment is professional and supportive, focusing on providing excellent patient care. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
