Administrative Clerk for our downtown Chicago headquarters. Candidate must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, organized professional capable of functioning in a fast-paced, challenging legal environment.
Essential Job Functions: Administrative Assistant and Law Clerk tasks for general liability cases. Tasks would predominantly include opening General Liability cases in the case management system, PerfectLaw, for the attorney Analyze case materials and Court docket to provide a detailed description of the status of the case to open the file Deposition scheduling, back up to the deposition clerk. Review and docket mail and motions as well as other related documents pertaining to the cases. Maintain daily calendar and computer files. Ensure tasks are completed timely and properly documented. Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software. Making sure filing is done and up to date. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Administrative tasks related to litigation. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Associates degree or higher required; bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of experience supporting a legal office. Working knowledge of court rules, procedures and experience in litigation. Microsoft Word and Outlook experience required; Excel experience preferred. Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
