Medical Assistant - Podiatry Float
This is a Back Office Medical Assistant position where you will serve as a float to various Podiatry and Foot and Ankle offices. You will be required to work across several locations, including Bridgewater, Piscataway, and potentially New Providence. The role involves assisting with patient intake, vital checks, and room preparation, as well as supporting providers during patient care and office procedures. Responsibilities Conduct patient intakes and room preparation. Perform vital checks and assist in patient care. Support the provider in setting up and breaking down office procedures. Update and manage inboxes for the electronic medical record system. Scan and update documents in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Update charts for medications and input patient orders. Restock rooms and manage inventory in supply closets. Triage phone calls for physician and patient inquiries. Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems like Athena. Essential Skills 1 year of medical assistant experience. Experience with electronic medical records, preferably Athena or Epic. Strong patient care and medical assisting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required. Experience in podiatry is a plus. Proactive, outgoing, and able to multitask efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage patient flow. Willingness to learn and take initiative. Work Environment The role requires a 40-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with two Saturdays a month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Regular hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00/5:30 PM, with late days on Mondays and Wednesdays until around 6:15 PM. Fridays start at 1:00 PM for patient appointments, with office prep in the morning. Flexibility in hours is needed due to variable end times, and schedules are set monthly. The work environment is friendly, with a supportive team of MAs and PSRs. The office sees about 50-60 patients per Medical Assistant, and there are two providers with two Medical Assistants each, seeing around 80-100 patients a day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, New Jersey. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
