Position Description

Pay and Schedule

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.62 per mile to $1.35 per mile based on length of trip with 1200 - 1700 miles per week
• Solo Stops Pay: $21.00 per stop with 2 - 4 stops per day
• Per Diem Pay: $50 per night with 1 night out per week possibly
• Safety Bonus: $300 four times a year, every quarter
• Paid Training
• Schedule: 6-day work week with 1 full day off during the week; drivers work weekends & holidays
• Start Time: Dispatch between 9:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Route, Equipment and Freight

• Deliver SOLO To: 500 mile radius of Pearl River, LA
• Route: Regional - Home every day except one possible layover per week
• Tractor Type: Day Cab
• Trailer Type: 53' Reefer
• Equipment: Manual Pallet Jack
• Freight: Touch – Grocery Items; driver will assist with unloading at stores, strapping and securing load before leaving each stop

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience: 9 months in past 3 years, OR 2 years in past 5 years, OR 5 years in past 10 years
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions; ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or customer-specific badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
