IT Infrastructure Setup Specialist Job at Actalent in Seattle

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lab IT Infrastructure Setup Specialist to lead the setup of a new lab space. This position requires hands-on expertise in configuring network infrastructure, servers, and lab instrumentation systems, while ensuring seamless integration between corporate and non-corporate IT environments. This role will start in October and run through January of 2026. There is ability to transfer into an IT Generalist role after January based on individuals performance/abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and configuration of lab IT infrastructure over a 3-month period.
• Install and configure routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
• Set up servers, instrument controllers, and lab systems.
• Establish and manage secure VPNs and network segmentation.
• Perform network testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Configure network access and ensure secure connectivity across environments.
• Bridge the gap between corporate IT and lab-specific (non-corporate) systems.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT infrastructure setup, especially in lab or technical environments.
• Strong knowledge of network configuration, firewalls, VPNs, routers, switches, and access points.
• Experience with server installation and integration of instrument control systems.
• Familiarity with corporate IT environments and experience bridging to non-corporate networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage setup timelines effectively.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
