Responsibilities Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA\'s BNATCS contract. The ATC Voice Communications Senior Advisor will serve as a trusted senior advisor to FAA leadership, shaping the modernization of critical voice communication systems that keep America\'s skies safe and connected. This role will influence how current and next-generation voice capabilities are designed, integrated, and transitioned across the NAS, ensuring operational continuity, cybersecurity, and compliance with national and international standards. Your expertise in system architecture, human factors, and interoperability with automation and surveillance platforms will guide FAA decisions that affect millions of travelers daily.
In this role, you will:
Shape the future of air traffic communications by advising leadership on modernization strategies, transition planning, and technical risks.
Provide expertise on legacy and advanced systems, including Voice Switching and Control Systems (VSCS), Voice over IP (VoIP), and related communication technologies.
Ensure global compliance and safety by evaluating designs, proposals, and testing against FAA requirements, ICAO standards, and NAS architecture.
Strengthen system performance through independent assessments of resiliency, latency, interoperability, and cybersecurity.
Drive readiness and adoption by supporting requirements development, engineering reviews, verification/validation, and operational assessments.
Advance mission resilience by addressing cybersecurity, spectrum management, and continuity challenges.
Empower the FAA workforce through knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement, and training for smooth adoption of next-generation technologies.
Qualifications The ATC Voice Communications Senior Advisor needs:
Bachelor\'s degree with typically 20+ years of related professional experience.
Recognized expertise in ATC voice communications systems with direct experience supporting the FAA or an equivalent aviation authority.
Strong knowledge of NAS voice infrastructure and VoIP technologies.
Familiarity with human factors, safety assurance, and integration of communications with automation and surveillance systems.
Demonstrated ability to influence high-level program outcomes through authoritative technical guidance.
Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build trust and engage stakeholders.
U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
