What You'll Do
As a Manufacturing Associate, you'll be part of our Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing team located in Skokie, IL. You'll get to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads and interprets work instructions, basic diagrams, drawings, and methods to determine machine function.
- Understanding of Basic, Precision, and Surface Plate measuring instruments and how to inspect parts.
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
- Adjust machine to control parts as needed.
- Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures workpiece in fixture according to setup instructions.
- Performs diversified operations on numerical control machines.
- Thoroughly understands how to set tool offsets and change tooling
- Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
- Recognize process problems and improve inefficient processes.
- Communicates with supervisors and production workers by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Clean and maintain machine, tooling and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Keep work area areas always clean.
- Due to the use of onsite equipment attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Technical school graduate: or one to three years' experience related or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Ability to perform basic math - add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Ability to read basic measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers
- Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
- Strong attention to detail
- Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge
- Ability to read and understand procedure, routers and instruction including blueprints
- Flexibility in work assignments
- Must be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking
- Must be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily
- Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work daily, weekly overtime and weekend as required
