Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.

What You'll Do
As a Manufacturing Associate, you'll be part of our Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing team located in Skokie, IL. You'll get to:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reads and interprets work instructions, basic diagrams, drawings, and methods to determine machine function.
  • Understanding of Basic, Precision, and Surface Plate measuring instruments and how to inspect parts.
  • Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and detect malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
  • Adjust machine to control parts as needed.
  • Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures workpiece in fixture according to setup instructions.
  • Performs diversified operations on numerical control machines.
  • Thoroughly understands how to set tool offsets and change tooling
  • Adjusts machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
  • Recognize process problems and improve inefficient processes.
  • Communicates with supervisors and production workers by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Clean and maintain machine, tooling and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Keep work area areas always clean.
  • Due to the use of onsite equipment attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Technical school graduate: or one to three years' experience related or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to perform basic math - add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read basic measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers
  • Strong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvement
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand procedure, routers and instruction including blueprints
  • Flexibility in work assignments
  • Must be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walking
  • Must be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours daily
  • Must be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work daily, weekly overtime and weekend as required
