Software Engineer

Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will be part of the interdisciplinary Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy Python-based applications to automate data processing workflows, in efforts to improve data accuracy for analytics
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code aligned with established standards and best practices
  • Develop and maintain software components for real-time, mission-critical defense applications
  • Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making for test planning and USMC system evaluations
  • Provide engineering level input and assistance to system software and tools already under development as needed
  • Evaluate system performance using established metrics and test methodologies
  • Support software products in land-based test environments and field events
  • Collaborate with systems architects and engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and system-level requirements
  • Participate in technical reviews and deliver presentations to Government stakeholders as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field plus 5-7 years of related experience. (Master's degree plus 3 years)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Experience with complex system-of-systems analysis efforts
  • Familiarity with DoD operations, technologies, and supporting systems (e.g., sensors, effectors, and networks)
  • Experience with CAC2S, CEC, and associated sensors and Command and Control systems.
  • Experience supporting military personnel during Demonstrations and Exercises in CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 6-12 times per year
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or can obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or higher security clearance
