Company Overview Contentnea Health is a Community Health Center providing comprehensive medical, dental and behavioral health services for members of our communities in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties in eastern North Carolina. Job Summary Responsible for processing and sterilization of clinical instruments. Responsibilities and Duties Prepares and sterilizes instruments and treatment rooms.
Collects, cleans, disinfects and sterilizes instruments after procedures according to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines. Operates autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners and handpiece cleaners according to manufacturer instructions and safety protocols. Inspects instruments for cleanliness, damage or wear, reports issues and replaces instruments as necessary. Performs deep cleaning of operatories beyond daily maintenance. Follows the organization’s infection control protocols.
Provides maintenance, documentation and support services.
Performs biological
monitoring. Maintains autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners and handpiece cleaners according to
manufacturer’s instructions. Maintains instrument processing, sterilization, biological monitoring and equipment maintenance logs. Organizes and stocks sterilized instruments in appropriate storage areas. Monitors and maintains sterilization supplies and inventory.
Coordinates with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow.
Communicates supply needs to the Practice Manager. Assists in maintaining compliance with infection control audits. Supports dental team through assistance with clinical and administrative tasks as assigned by the Practice Manager.
Qualifications and Skills Possesses a basic level of written and verbal communication skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program.
