ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY
Based in Midwest Vision Partners' Chicago headquarters, the
Accounting Manager
is a leader on MVP's finance and accounting team reporting directly to the VP of Accounting (Controller). The incoming
Accounting Manager
will lead a group of Accountants and support the Controller in all corporate accounting operations, including financial close process, internal and external reporting, detailed financial analyses and integration of the accounting tech stack. They will both run the accounting department at HQ as well as advise and work with all regional operating teams on onboarding, driving consistency in accounting policies, consolidation and reporting. The Accounting Manager will also work closely with the FP&A team to build systems and processes to ensure accurate and timely collection of financial data to eventually drive toward a recapitalization process. This also emphasizes the need for "scrappy" candidates who are willing to take on basic but essential business responsibilities while we build the right long-term processes over time. Oversee the accounting department operations to ensure compliance with GAAP and strong internal controls:
Develop and oversee compliance with the corporate policies and internal controls including but not limited to AP, AR, cash management, inventory control, payroll, fixed asset tracking and management, tax, and general accounting.
Lead a structured and timely month close process with a goal to close books on BD7.
Review and ensure thoroughness, accuracy, and completion of all journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage the general ledger (GL) and timely release of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Perform financial analysis including budget comparisons and variance analyses and aid in any special analysis and preparation of various monthly management reports.
Identify opportunities and recommend enhancements for improved financial and accounting processes.
Actively participate and lead data validation and reporting efforts in ERP (D365), PowerBI, and Adaptive in partnership with FP&A.
Establish goals and objectives, measure progress, and implement improvements and innovations to enhance competitiveness and continuously improve efficiency and optimize the use of resources.
Lead accounting department through the year-end audit activities:
Drive completion of accounting memos and process narratives to ensure process clarity and compliance with internal controls.
Oversee preparation of audit schedules and provide timely responses to audit requests.
Coordinate audit activities with external auditors to accurate documentation to ensure unqualified audit opinion and the release of financial statements by April 30th.
Coordinates and facilitates communication and data gathering with RCM and other departments in response to audit requests.
Develop and effectively manage a team of A-Players, as evidenced by team NPS of 50+ and strong upward feedback (or team engagement score > 90%):
Train, motivate, conduct performance appraisals, and develop accounting team members.
Foster a positive work culture of excellence and accountability in the accounting department.
Build team cohesion and trust through holding team meetings and one-on-one touch bases.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in this role you will have the following experience or knowledge: Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
CPA strongly preferred
Minimum of five years of accounting experience (healthcare or similar industry strongly preferred)
Minimum of four years of supervisory experience
Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft ERP or similar strongly preferred), Workday Adaptive
Must have advanced knowledge and experience with Windows Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience in independently performing accounting analysis based on relevant fact patterns and accounting guidance and identifying areas that require judgment
Proven experience in writing accounting memos, policy papers and/or financial reports

COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is
$125,000 - $145,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The base range for this role is shown above. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired close to or at the maximum of the pay range.
