CREDIT ANALYST

Verbatim Americas seeks an experienced,

Credit Analyst

to establish and maintain customer credit relationships for complex and/or high volume of customer accounts. Operating within the Verbatim Credit Policy guidelines, helps to produce the highest possible sales with the lowest level of bad debt write-offs. Monitors customer accounts and takes corrective action as required. Analyzes customer financial statements, performs credit history investigations and assembles data to justify the credit limits extended to individual customer accounts. Ensures prompt collection of accounts receivable from assigned accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

include the following; other duties may be assigned: Completes daily cash applications Makes collection calls and otherwise communicates with past due customers to collect accounts receivable. Monitors and maintains customer accounts and ensures prompt resolution of disputes or customer payment variances. Performs credit history investigations on new and existing customer accounts through the use of third party credit reports, vendor and outside trade references and bank references. Completes daily cash applications. Obtains and analyzes the financial statements of new and existing customers to ascertain financial strength and credit worthiness. Establishes and maintains credit limits to customers within authorized limits. Recommends credit limits in excess of authorized limits. Updates customer credit files on an annual basis. Reviews daily backlog of credit hold orders and makes decisions to release or hold orders based on the customer's credit standing. Conveys credit terms to customers and to Verbatim sales representatives. Counsels and negotiates with customers to improve financial controls, suggests sources of working capital and establishes special credit arrangements and payment schedules as needed. Assists and advises Supervisor, Credit and Collections with weekly departmental reporting. Plans credit restrictions and collection tactics for risky, slow pay and sensitive accounts.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Associate's degree or higher preferred in Business Administration or Accounting or commensurate experience. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in credit management required. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and present to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be proficient in MS Office and experience with SAP/SAP Hana accounting software a plus. Should possess the ability to manage difficult customer situations. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess sound judgement skills, and excellent attention to detail. It is a busy work environment; therefore, must be able to prioritize work and use time efficiently.
