Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Perform a variety of administrative and warehousing tasks to support the inventory control department. This includes handling receiving, inspection, stockroom, and shipping/export functions, with potential specialization in areas like bar coding or data entry. Engage in customer-working groups and take independent action to resolve issues, demonstrating a high degree of initiative. Provide guidance and training to less experienced members of the inventory control team. Responsibilities
Execute physical or administrative tasks related to the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. Identify and implement process improvements in shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution operations. Inspect goods received against purchase orders or invoices, rejecting unsatisfactory items and maintaining records of received goods and rejections. Perform heavy lifting and operate a forklift. Prepare goods for final shipment, post weights and shipping charges, and maintain shipping records. Examine parts and distribute materials as needed within the inventory control department and manufacturing area. Prepare kitting packages for use in both production and fulfillment areas. Utilize Wasp Bar Coding for various departmental functions and establish detailed instructions for cross-functional training. Lead departmental cross-training efforts and serve as the lead trainer for all process improvements. Essential Skills
Experience in shipping and receiving operations. Proficiency in inventory control and kitting processes. Ability to operate a forklift. Familiarity with ERP systems and data entry.
