Construction Estimator Job at Landmark Construction in Charleston

Position Description:

·          Work with project teams to coordinate and create takeoffs for various types of construction projects

·          Review project documents, plans, and specifications to identify material and labor requirements

·          Utilize takeoff software to determine quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for a project

·          Prepare accurate estimates for site work and utility projects

·          Assist with budget analysis for project materials and labor

·          Assist in the preparation of estimates and bids for projects

·          Provide technical support to project teams when needed

·          Prepare accurate estimates for sitework and utility projects.

·          Analyze project specifications and drawings.

·          Evaluate subcontractor quotes and material costs.

·          Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful bid submissions.

·          Continuously improve estimating processes.

·          Foster relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

·          Provide guidance to junior estimators.

Position Requirements:

·          Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret data

·          Ability to interpret contractual requirements

·          Strong interpersonal communication skills

·          Creative thinking to automate processes and increase efficiencies

·          Ability to learn new software quickly

·          Strong attention to detail

·          Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)

·          Prior experience with a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) system

·          Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

·          High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced knowledge of Excel is a MUST!)

·          Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues

·          Creative thinking to automate processes and increase efficiencies

·          Experience in earthwork estimating and utility estimating

·          Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid or Bid2Win software

·          Proficiency in AutoCAD or Trimble Business Center

·          Proven ability to develop precise and competitive estimates

·          Strong analytical skills to assess project requirements and costs

·          Excellent communication and teamwork skills

·          Detail-oriented and results-driven mindset
