Position Title: Senior Engineer I (Recruitment # SE1)
Job Description:
Support new display product development through in-depth analyses of electro-optical performance and manufacturability. Responsible for inventing and developing new drive schemes and enabling novel capabilities and features for E Inks e-Paper technology including e-reader, e-notes and outdoor signage products. Design and implement deep learning models and algorithms to simulate and optimize display performance and drive schemes. Design and execute electro-optical experiments to characterize display performance and investigate technical challenges. Develop and document processes for production implementation. Perform statistical analysis and build mathematical models to assess results. Create and document intellectual property. Position is fixed location based in Billerica office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed up to one (1) day per week.
40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm Requires a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or related field plus five (5) years of industry experience in modeling physical systems using machine learning and signal processing. Experience must include:
Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Object-oriented programming experience in Python and MATLAB
Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Application of signal processing to display system modeling with emphasis on analyzing and optimizing system response to external stimuli and environmental factors
- Industry experience in the application of deep learning (DL) to modeling nonlinear systems
- Industry experience in conducting independent research using controlled experiments to gain in-depth understanding of different phenomena/anomalies in complex systems and investigate fundamental causes of technical challenges
- Industry experience in product development spanning product life cycle including research and development, production, maintenance, and customer support
One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Using electronic laboratory equipment including camera optical systems, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and function generators
- Developing software scripts to interface with lab equipment and automate data acquisition.
Will accept a Masters degree plus three (3) years of industry experience in modeling physical systems using machine learning and signal processing role in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus five (5) years of experience.
