Job Description:

Evaluate and procure fixtures and equipment with emphasis on cost justification and mistake-proofing. Work-cell design using Lean Manufacturing. Cost estimation. Drive major projects, programs, and initiatives from planning through tactical execution. Master advanced methodologies, processes, and technologies. Align change efforts with business goals and strategies. Establish and conduct Industrial Engineering and Productivity Improvement Projects. Improve processes through bottleneck and material flow analysis, optimize plant layout, use time and motion study, problem solving techniques, and innovative producibility studies. Analyze and design the sequence of operations and process flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts. Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. Develop and implement plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. Maintain safety, product quality and manufacturing effectiveness by examining equipment, processes, operations, product components, and assembly to suggest and implement improvements. Develop efficient and effective systems for capturing critical process metrics for all manufacturing operations. Implement automated data collection where possible. Work to standardize manufacturing processes and put appropriate controls in place to monitor status. Lead Lean and Six Sigma activities to drive a culture of continuous improvement. This position is a fixed location based in Chelmsford office; however, telecommuting from a home office is allowed up to one (1) day per week.

40 hours/week, 8:00am-4:00pm

Requires a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience as an Industrial Engineer. Will also accept a Masters degree plus three (3) years of described experience.

Experience must include:

Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment driving continuous improvement Structured problem-solving experience using DMAIC, 8D, Root Cause Investigation, or related Development and implementation of Manufacturing Layouts in medical device environment Managing Capital Equipment plans and ROI analysis Using AutoCAD for 2D layouts

Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Performing time studies and labor content analysis Capability Analysis, Time Studies, and Line balancing Lean principles and process improvement
