Data & Insights Analyst role at Visa.
The Data & Insights Analyst will be a key member of the Business Optimization Analytics team within Client Services, supporting cross-border, affluent and mass activities based in Miami. The team turns large data sets into actionable insights to drive portfolio performance, program profitability and cardholder experiences. This role is responsible for building and deploying a single source of truth on insights, facts, and reporting.
As part of the team, you will use analytical skills, business sense and creativity to solve real-world business challenges for Visa issuing banks, acquirers and merchants.
Responsibilities
- Create and present analytic deliverables to internal and external Visa clients, colleagues in the analytics team, and other internal stakeholders with varying degrees of analytical and technical expertise
- Understand root problems, define analytical objectives and formalize data requirements for various analyses
- Combine and analyze disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment
- Proactively facilitate the overall analytic delivery strategy for the organization
- Compare client performance against industry best practices to identify opportunities for performance and profitability improvements
- Develop presentations of complex data for clients in an accurate, understandable and engaging manner
This is a hybrid position. The expectation of days in office will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in data analysis and/or insight delivery with a track record of creating business value from data
- 4-year degree in a quantitative field
- Proficiency manipulating data from multiple sources; Big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL
- Experience visualizing data with tools like Tableau
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
- Visa experience or knowledge of the payments industry is a plus
- Fluent in English and Spanish
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies by department needs.
Travel Requirements: 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Office-based role; sit/stand at a desk, communicate in person or by telephone, operate standard office equipment.

U.S. Applicants Only: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $87,200.00 to $123,400.00 USD per year, may include incentive payments. Salary varies by knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
