At Capital One, data is at the center of everything we do. This role focuses on enhancing data quality in AML models and on managing data quality processes. You will monitor data quality through control infrastructure, adapt processes to evolving enterprise technology, and develop tools and approaches to improve data quality and efficiency. The work blends process management with innovative data quality initiatives across Innovation, Business Intelligence and Data Management.

Responsibilities

• Innovation: Use open source and digital technologies to mine diverse data sources; build well-managed data solutions and self-service frameworks for data consumers; explore and grasp new technologies to progress initiatives.
• Business Intelligence: Partner with the business to design and develop tools, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization; drive analyses that inform business strategies.
• Data Management: Promote data quality management principles including metadata, data lineage, and business definitions; collaborate with Tech teams on security and data access governance; build and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related field
• Scripting experience in Python, R, Spark, and SQL
• Experience with data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data)
• Experience using and developing within Snowflake services

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related) with at least 2 years of data analytics experience, or a Master’s degree with anticipated completion by start date
• At least 1 year of experience with at least one scripting language
• At least 1 year of experience using a business intelligence visualization tool
• At least 1 year of experience querying and analyzing data languages and platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a STEM field
• At least 2 years of coding experience in Python, R, Spark, or SQL
• Experience with process management/improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma)
• At least 1 year of experience with AWS services
• Experience with data governance and data quality tools (e.g. Informatica DQ)

Additional Information

Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position. Salary ranges and eligibility vary by location. For Plano, TX: $99,100 - $113,100; McLean, VA: $109,000 - $124,400; Richmond, VA: $99,100 - $113,100. Actual offer amounts are provided in the offer letter and may vary by location and other factors. This role may be eligible for incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives, depending on plan terms.
