Position: Estimator
Role Overview:
You will play a critical role in the preconstruction & estimating phase, contributing to the success of projects through accurate and comprehensive estimating, strategic planning, and effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to define the scope of work.
• Attend pre-bid and project meetings; develop and submit RFIs as needed.
• Prepare both conceptual and detailed estimates, including company self-perform scopes such as concrete and carpentry type of work.
• Generate takeoffs and organize complete bid packages, including subcontractor and supplier coverage.
• Lead and participate in internal/external estimate presentations.
• Execute full bid process: solicitations, communications, evaluations, and bid analysis.
• Recommend design alternatives based on cost, quality, and material availability.
• Determine labor and equipment costs
• Manage bid document distribution and bidder qualification, support subcontractor buyout and project handoff.
• Collaborate with project and financial managers on cost tracking & risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop conceptual budgets and strategic risk assessments.
• Maintain and upload all estimate documentation; ensure organization and completeness of deliverables.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 4 years of estimating experience.
• Proficiency in construction estimating processes, systems, and assemblies.
• Experience with both GMP and Lump Sum project delivery methods.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, estimating software, and scheduling tools (Microsoft Office, Project, SAGE and ProEst).
