What You’ll Do
- Champion the Vulcan Way of Selling. Implement and enforce all sales programs and policies in line with Vulcan’s internal sales strategies. Service a customer base through sales, service, and collection of receivables to improve profits on the production and sales of construction aggregates.
- Grow and Develop the Business. Prospect and cultivate new sales leads to maximize market penetration, adapt to changing customer and market needs, and develop new markets and customers. Exercise independent judgment in providing quotes and pricing within defined authority.
- Develop Strategy. Work with the sales team to drive revenue and market share by developing and implementing a strategic market plan for your assigned area. Prepare status reports on territory trends, events, closings, follow-up, and feedback from field activity.
- Develop and Maintain Business Relationships. Grow and maintain all assigned accounts relative to sales volume, market share, product distribution, space allocation, and customer service objectives. Resolve customer issues related to materials or trucking to ensure satisfaction and delivery of high-quality products.
- Meet or Exceed Revenue Targets. Develop a territory budget, create projections, analyze trends, and manage within parameters to ensure profitability, projecting sales and analyzing trends to assist the budget process.
- Represent the Company. Represent the company with major contractors, federal, state, and local agencies, and industry associations involved in regulating, specifying, or purchasing construction materials.
- Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You’ll Need
- Experience. Sales experience with a track record of forward-thinking responsibility and successful sales is preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills. Excellent motivator and team builder. Ability to form strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
- Selling Skills. Persuasive selling skills and knowledge.
- Pricing Knowledge. Familiarity with pricing and marketing principles to support business planning.
- Technology Skills. Proficiency with computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail) and up-to-date sales systems (MOBILESales, APEX quote-to-cash, and Sales Analytics) to understand, measure, and capitalize on sales opportunities.

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is $115,000 – $140,000 per year. This range excludes discretionary bonuses or equity. Compensation considers skillset, experience, job scope, and market data.
