Responsibilities

Abide by and enforce all compliance requirements and policies ethically. Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and families. Respond to overhead pages promptly. Maintain accurate records as required. Investigate incidents and accidents, preparing clear, legible reports aligned with university, hospital, and security standards. Inspect doors and lights as needed. Respond quickly to fires and other emergencies. Perform preventative patrols of the hospital and grounds with minimal supervision. Assist the Police Department as required. Complete all necessary training for the department and hospital. Perform duties positively and cooperatively to enhance team performance. Fulfill all mandatory educational and hospital requirements. Use cost-effective practices in job performance. Adhere to current infection control and safety standards. Manage information desk duties and monitor security video systems. Patrol premises on foot and by cart to protect persons and property. Occasionally work in inclement weather. Maintain regular and punctual attendance, with flexibility for overtime and calls as required. Perform related duties as needed.

Qualifications

Completion of tenth grade. Some positions may require a valid driver’s license and a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.
