Overview

The Receptionist receives and correctly routes incoming and outgoing telephone calls and accommodates visitors so that all callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Receptionist performs basic administrative/clerical/operational/customer support tasks. Typically works on routine and patterned assignments. The Receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Takes and distributes accurate messages. Greets visitors and determines the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintains visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Responds to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as the organization's location, hours of operation, phone numbers, and/or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and route incoming and outgoing telephone calls; operate a switchboard or multi-line phone; maintain long distance call logs.
  • Greet visitors, determine the nature of their visit, issue visitor passes and maintain visitor logs; alert appropriate party of visitor arrival or direct visitors to the correct office/employee.
  • Take and distribute accurate messages; respond to routine inquiries (location, hours of operation, phone numbers, email address).
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing/distributing mail, and receiving/sending courier packages.
  • Work under defined parameters, with close supervision and/or within established policies and guidelines, focusing on quality, priorities, and timing.

Qualifications

  • Required: MUST be bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • 1 year or more of experience in a Healthcare setting preferred; strong Customer Service background in Retail, Hospitality, Call Centers, etc. will be considered.
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving patient experiences and care.
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette; team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
  • Preferred: Value-based care model experience; knowledge of Medical Terminology; experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records).

Additional Information

  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
  • This role is patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected, you will be screened for TB.

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $38,000 - $45,800 per year, reflecting a good faith estimate for full-time employment; actual pay may vary based on location, skills, experience, and certifications.
