They focus on high-impact missions supporting security and space domain awareness, operating within Colorado's growing defense and aerospace ecosystem, especially on radar systems sustainment and modernization for strategic radar assets. Job Description As an Embedded Software Engineer supporting radar systems, you will develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software for Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) sites and other strategic radar assets. The role involves working in a mission-critical environment focused on early detection, missile warning, and space domain awareness. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing embedded software for ground-based radar systems, especially phased-array radar platforms. You will develop low-level code in C and C++ for real-time environments, supporting radar signal processing, control systems, and hardware communication interfaces. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of embedded software development experience in aerospace or defense, with specific experience with ground-based radar systems such as UEWR or PARCS, and holds an active Secret clearance. Responsibilities Design and implement embedded software for ground-based radar systems. Develop and maintain low-level C and C++ code for real-time environments. Support radar signal processing, control systems, and hardware interfaces. Perform integration, troubleshooting, and validation of software modules. Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test teams to ensure subsystem alignment. Support legacy code sustainment and modernization efforts. Maintain configuration management and technical documentation per DoD standards. Analyze system performance issues and work on software solutions. Diagnose field software issues impacting radar reliability. Assist in risk assessment and mitigation for software and radar integration. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Minimum 6 years of embedded software experience in aerospace, defense, or similar domain. 6+ years of experience with ground-based radar systems such as UEWR or PARCS. Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded real-time applications. Experience with radar systems or hardware-in-the-loop testing. Knowledge of hardware/software interfaces and communication protocols (Ethernet, SPI, UART, MIL-STD-1553). Experience with debugging tools, version control (e.g., Git), and safety-critical software development. Active Secret security clearance. Nice-to-Haves TS/SCI clearance or eligibility. Understanding of DoD systems engineering processes. Knowledge of radar signal processing or phased-array radar concepts. Familiarity with FPGA toolchains (Xilinx, Altera). Experience with Agile and DevSecOps in defense environments. Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering or computer science fields.
