Emergency Medicine Locum Opportunity - Kansas City, Missouri Level I Trauma Center High-Acuity 3-Month Assignment

Position Overview: Join a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department in Kansas City, MO. This Level I Trauma Center sees complex cases and accepts numerous transfers, offering an excellent opportunity for experienced emergency physicians seeking a dynamic environment.

Assignment Details:

  • Start Date: September 8, 2025

  • Duration: 3 months

  • Shifts:

  • 6a-4p

  • 10a-8p

  • 3p-1a

  • 8p-6a

  • Scheduling Flexibility:

  • Main hospital may offer shifts shorter than 12 hours

  • Affiliated Free-Standing EDs require 12-hour shifts

  • Providers must be open to days, nights, and weekends

  • Must be willing to work across both hospital and affiliated FSER locations

    Clinical Environment:

    • Trauma Level: I

    • Average Daily Census: 106

    • Annual ER Admissions: 34%

    • Common Cases: High-volume trauma (including penetrating), critically ill patients, frequent procedures, and high transfer rates

    • Technology: Occasional psychiatric robot assistance

    • Support Staff: Full specialty support except pediatrics

    Candidate Requirements:

    • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)

    • EM Residency Trained

    • ACLS, PALS, ATLS required

    • Strong procedural skills and comfort with high-acuity patient care
